Day 1 – Holland, MI – Our first day’s journey takes us through Indiana and into Michigan to our hotel for three nights in Holland. Founded by Dutch immigrants in the 19th century, this charming town of the eastern shores of Lake Michigan draws thousands of visitors every year with its natural beauty and vibrant cultural heritage. Tonight, we enjoy an included dinner.
Day 2 – Windmill Island – Veldheer Tulip Gardens – Wooden Shoe & Delftware Pottery Factory – After an included breakfast, we drive to the famous Windmill Island, where we see a 1761 operating windmill “De Zwaan,” America’s only authentic Dutch windmill, along with a miniature Dutch village, a drawbridge, and thousands of beautiful tulips. This afternoon, we visit the De Klomp Wooden Show & Delftware Pottery Factory where craftsmen decorate their wares and craft wooden shoes out of one solid piece of wood. Next, we visit Veldheer Tulip Gardens to see more than five million tulips in bloom. Dinner is included tonight along with an entertaining show.
Day 3 – Tulip Time Parade – After an included breakfast, we drive down Tulip Lanes, streets of beautifully manicured lawns with neat houses and rows of tulips in a variety of colors. After lunch on our own in this quaint town, we take our seats for the highlight of the week – the famous Tulip Time Parade. After the community Street Scrubbing, the parade kicks off as residents in full Dutch costume march through downtown Holland. Dozens of bands showcase their talents amid the community floats and entertaining special entries. Tonight, we enjoy an included dinner and an amazing show.
