Do you have special needs buses?
  • Yes, we can accommodate special needs upon timely requests and or availability.
Can we request a driver for our trip?
  • Yes, drivers may be requested. Contact your scheduler to see if they are available.
How do I request a bus?

Do you have charter buses that accessible for those with disabilities?
  • Yes, we do. Please let us know your needs, and we will confirm availability.
What is your policy on cancellations for non-school related private charters & field trips?
  • To receive a refund, trips must be cancelled 30 days prior to departure. Full refunds may be impacted if Jefferson Tours and Charters has prepaid (non-refundable) tolls, parking, hotel, event costs, and meals for example and deducted from any refund.
  • Special event days are non-refundable. For example, but not limited to, Kentucky Derby, sporting events, Kentucky State Fair, circus etc. This policy does not refer to school-related trips.

What is prohibited on the bus?
  • Illegal drugs, smoking and/or vaping of any kind are not allowed on any of our buses. Illegal drugs. Groups wishing to transport alcohol on a bus must obtain approval.
  • Drinks of any kind that are purple, orange or red may cause stains on the upholstery and are prohibited. Beverages or snacks brought onto buses must be contained to prevent spillage.
Can I bring my pet on the bus?
  • Only service animals are allowed on the buses.
How many students will fit on your school buses?
  • There are two capacities:
  • 1) Large capacity school buses can transport 84 elementary students, 58 middle or high school students. 2) A conventional school bus can transport 66 elementary students or 44 middle or high school students. Remember to leave room for teachers.
Can we transport coolers and luggage on the bus?
  • Not in the seating area, but our buses do have limited exterior compartments for storage.
Do your charter buses have A/C?
  • Yes, they do have air conditioning.
Are there any time limitations?
  • We operate by DOT standards that include hours of service (HOS). A driver is limited to on-duty time of 15 hours but may only drive 10 of those hours. When overnight trips are required, your group is responsible to reserve and purchase a private room for our driver. This also includes other fees like parking.
When is my deposit due?
  • A deposit is due when you schedule your trip. This date will be found on your “QUOTES/CONFIRMATIONS” page. Failure to provide a deposit will result in cancellation. Charters booked within 30 days are required to pay for the full cost of the trip.
How do I pay for my trip/deposit?
  • Credit cards are preferred, but we will accept a check. Remember, deposits are due when booking prior to 30 days before a trip.
When is my payment due in full?
  • The final balance of your trip is due two weeks prior to your departure date.
Do motorcoaches come with a built-in microphone system?
  • Yes, they do. All Motorcoaches have a microphone and speaker system.
Are motorcoaches bathroom accessible?
  • Yes, all Motorcoaches are equipped with accessible bathrooms.
