Join us for a delightful three-day getaway from Chattanooga to historic Lynchburg, TN. Explore iconic sights like Jack Daniel’s Distillery, the Moore County Old Jail Museum and quaint local shops bursting with charm. Along the way, indulge in mouthwatering Southern cuisine, including a group lunch at the famous Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House. This is the perfect escape for those who love history, heritage, and delicious food.
Day 1 – Chattanooga – MoonPie General Store – River Gallery Sculpture Garden – Barrel House BBQ – Tullahoma, TN – Our adventure begins as we travel south to Chattanooga. After lunch on our own, we stop at Chattanooga’s famous MoonPie General Store where nostalgia and southern charm meet. Shop for MoonPies in a variety of flavors, plus retro candy, gifts and souvenirs. Afterwards, we’ll explore the serene and inspiring River Gallery Sculpture Garden, nestled in the historic Bluff View Art District of Chattanooga. Later, we head over to Lynchburg for an included southern barbecue dinner at Barrel House BBQ. Barrel House is home of the #1 Grilled Cheese Sandwich in Tennessee and ranked among the top 5 barbecue spots in the state! After a day of fun, we’ll head to Tullahoma, where we overnight two nights.
Day 2 – Jack Daniel’s Distillery Tour – Lynchburg Hardware and General Store – Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House – Moore Old County Jail Museum – After an included breakfast, we begin our day with a guided tour of Jack Daniel’s Distillery, where you’ll learn the fascinating story behind America’s oldest registered distillery and its legendary Tennessee whiskey. This afternoon, we have time to shop in the historic town square. From sweet treats at Velma’s Candy Store to one-of-a-kind finds at the Lynchburg Hardware and General Store, there’s something for everyone. A delicious lunch is included at the beloved Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House where Southern hospitality and traditional comfort food come together in a historic setting. Next, we visit the Moore County Old Jail Museum, a unique look into the town’s colorful past. Built in 1893 and operational until 1990, the jail now serves as a museum showcasing historical artifacts, clothing and jail cells once occupied by inmates. Overnight same hotel.
Day 3 – Beechcraft Heritage Museum – Home – After an included breakfast, we visit the Beechcraft Heritage Museum. Explore the legacy of one of aviation’s most iconic aircraft manufacturers with beautifully restored planes, historical exhibits, and stories that soar through time. Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast or simply curious, this museum offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Afterwards, we’ll return home to Kentucky filled with a new appreciation for Tennessee’s culture and history.
