Day 1 – Montgomery, AL – Today, we enjoy a scenic drive south through Tennessee to Alabama, where we overnight in Montgomery.
Day 2 – Hank Williams Museum – Apalachicola, FL – After an included breakfast, we tour the Hank Williams Museum, dedicated to one of country music’s greatest legends. You will see rare memorabilia, personal artifacts, and iconic 1952 baby blue Cadillac. Next, we enter the Sunshine State of Florida and check into our hotel in Apalachicola.
Day 3 – St. George Island Lighthouse – Crystal Wildlife Refuge – Crystal River, FL – After an included breakfast, we visit historic St. George Lighthouse. Built in 1852, this lighthouse guided ships through the dangerously shallow waters of Cape St. George for over 150 years. Next, we visit the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, home to the majestic Florida manatees and lush, spring-fed waters perfect for wildlife watching. We overnight in the serene coastal town of Crystal River.
Day 4 – Manatee Viewing Cruise – Tarpon Springs, FL – After an included breakfast, we embark on a Manatee Viewing Cruise. You’ll drift through pristine spring-fed waters and witness these gentle giants up close in their natural habitat. Next, we travel to Tarpon Springs, Florida’s Greek village by the sea. We enjoy an included Greek lunch, then we dive into culture with a guided tour of the sponge docks and charming downtown, rich with history and Mediterranean flare. We overnight in Tarpon Springs.
Day 5 – Clearwater Marine Aquarium – Fort Myers, FL – After an included breakfast, we visit the inspiring Clearwater Marine Aquarium, home to rescued dolphins, sea turtles, and other amazing marine life. Learn their stories, explore interactive exhibits, and experience the magic of ocean conservation. Next, we continue south to Fort Myers, where we overnight two nights.
Day 6 – Sanibel Island “Daycation” – After an included breakfast, we depart for beautiful Sanibel Island, where we will enjoy a Daycation at the Sundial Resort. Enjoy a leisurely day exploring the resort’s pristine beaches, strolling along the shore, or lounging by the pool. A dining credit is included, so you can savor a delicious lunch. As the day winds down, we return to our hotel in Fort Myers.
Day 7 – Naples Botanical Garden – Naples, FL – After an included breakfast, we visit the breathtaking Naples Botanical Garden, where 170 acres of tropical plants, serene walking paths, and colorful blooms from around the world create a paradise for the senses. Afterwards, we settle into our hotel accommodations for three nights in charming Naples. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to stroll on the beach, swim in the pool, or relax at the hotel.
Day 8 – Naples Trolley Tour – Sunset Dinner Cruise – After an included breakfast, we’ll discover the history and see the sights of Naples on a narrated trolley tour. This afternoon is free for lunch on your own and additional exploration. An included trolley pass with hop on/ hop off privileges makes it easy to get around. We’ll reconvene in the evening to experience a Sunset Dinner Cruise. Glide across the calm waters of Naples Bay while enjoying a delicious dinner, breathtaking views, and a golden Gulf Coast sunset. Overnight same hotel.
Day 9 – Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary – After an included breakfast, we will experience Florida’s untouched wilderness with a guided tour of Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. Ancient cypress trees, vibrant orchids, and wildlife such as wood storks, alligators, and barred owls create an unforgettable experience. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Overnight same hotel.
Day 10 – Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing – Gainesville, FL – After an included breakfast, we visit the legendary Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala, FL. Explore an incredible collection of classic race cars, antique automobiles, and rare memorabilia celebrating the life and legacy of “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, the father of drag racing. Afterwards, we continue to our overnight accommodations in Gainesville.
Day 11 – Chattanooga, TN – After an included breakfast, we board our motorcoach to start our journey home. We overnight in Chattanooga.
Day 12 – Ruby Falls – Home – After an included breakfast, we visit Ruby Falls, the tallest and deepest underground waterfall open to the public in the United States. Next, we journey back home with memories of our leisurely days in the Florida sun that will last throughout winter. Meals: 11B, 2L, 1D
