Itinerary
Day 1 – Flight to Seattle – Our adventure begins today as we fly to Seattle. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel for a relaxing two-night stay in the Emerald City.
Day 2 – Seattle City Tour – Pike Place Market – Sunset Cruise – Enjoy an in-depth sightseeing tour of Seattle with a local step-on guide as we discover many of the city’s most famous landmarks and neighborhoods. Highlights include views of the iconic Space Needle, the colorful Gum Wall, the famous Gas Works Park, the “Grey’s Anatomy” House, and the original Starbucks location. Enjoy lunch on own and shopping at historic Pike Place Market, where you can watch the market’s legendary fish throwing tradition. This evening, enjoy an included dinner followed by a relaxing sunset cruise featuring beautiful views of Seattle’s skyline and waterfront.
Day 3 – Henry M. Jackson Visitors Center – Mount St. Helens Visitors Center – Portland, OR – We depart Seattle and continue south toward Portland. Along the way, we stop at the Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center and the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center to learn about the history and geology of the famous volcano and its dramatic 1980 eruption. Upon arrival in Portland, we check in for a two-night stay.
Day 4 – Washington Park Gardens – Portland Spirit Dinner Cruise – This morning, visit beautiful Washington Park in Portland. Enjoy time exploring the park’s lush landscapes, colorful blooms, and peaceful walking paths. This evening, step aboard the Portland Spirit for a relaxing dinner cruise along the Willamette River. Savor a delicious meal while taking in views of Portland’s skyline, historic bridges, and waterfront scenery. Overnight same hotel.
Day 5 – Crescent City, CA – Today we travel south along the scenic Pacific Coast toward Crescent City for an overnight stay. Relax and enjoy the changing landscapes as we make our way toward the majestic Redwoods region awaiting us tomorrow.
Day 6 – Redwood National and State Parks – Redding, CA – Travel along California’s scenic North Coast into the majestic Redwood National and State Parks, home to some of the tallest trees in the world. Visit the Yurok Country Visitor Center and enjoy time surrounded by the awe-inspiring beauty of these ancient redwood forests, with opportunities for photos and short walks among the giant trees. We continue through Northern California’s mountain scenery to Redding for an overnight stay.
Day 7 – Lake Tahoe, CA – We continue south to beautiful Lake Tahoe for a relaxing two-night stay. Surrounded by majestic mountain scenery and crystal-clear alpine waters, Lake Tahoe is one of Sierra Nevada’s most spectacular destinations. We settle into our lakefront accommodations and have the remainder of the day at leisure. Relax on the private beach, stroll along the shoreline, take in the breathtaking lake and mountain views, or unwind and enjoy the hotel amenities.
Day 8 – Leisure Day in Lake Tahoe, CA – Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Relax on the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe, take in the spectacular mountain scenery, or stroll along the lake. Whether you choose to unwind or simply soak in the beauty of this alpine paradise, the day is yours to enjoy. Overnight same hotel.
Day 9 – Nevada State Railroad Museum – Eureka, NV – This morning we travel to Carson City, for a visit to the Nevada State Railroad Museum. Explore Nevada’s rich railroad heritage as you view beautifully restored steam locomotives, vintage railcars, and fascinating exhibits that tell the story of the state’s transportation history. Before departing, enjoy a photo stop at the impressive Nevada State Capitol. We then continue east across Nevada’s vast high desert, taking in the rugged scenery and wide-open landscapes before arriving in the historic mining town of Eureka for our overnight stay.
Day 10 – St. George, UT – Today we journey across the spectacular desert landscapes of eastern Nevada and southwestern Utah. Along the way, enjoy ever-changing scenery featuring rugged mountain ranges, colorful sandstone formations, and vast open valleys. Overnight in St. George.
Day 11 – Zion National Park – Bryce Canyon National Park – Bryce Canyon City, UT – Today we experience two of Utah’s most spectacular national parks. Our first stop is Zion National Park, renowned for its towering sandstone cliffs, narrow canyons, and breathtaking desert scenery. Enjoy exploring the park aboard Zion’s convenient free shuttle system, with opportunities to take in the stunning views. Next, we continue to Bryce Canyon National Park, where you’ll discover a landscape unlike any other in the American Southwest. Marvel at the park’s colorful amphitheaters filled with thousands of remarkable red, orange, and pink rock spires known as hoodoos. Overnight in Bryce Canyon City.
Day 12 – Capitol Reef National Park – Moab, UT – Today we journey through the breathtaking red rock landscapes of southern Utah to Capitol Reef National Park, one of the state’s hidden gems. Discover colorful sandstone cliffs, winding canyons, towering rock domes, and striking natural formations shaped by the park’s nearly 100-mile-long geologic feature known as the Waterpocket Fold. After taking in Capitol Reef’s remarkable scenery, we continue to Moab for a two-night stay.
Day 13 – Arches National Park – Canyonlands National Park – Two of Utah’s most spectacular national parks await us today. Our first stop is Arches National Park, home to more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, towering rock fins, balanced rocks, and spectacular desert vistas. We then continue to Canyonlands National Park, where the mighty Colorado River and Green River have sculpted an awe-inspiring landscape of deep canyons, towering mesas, and dramatic buttes. Overnight same hotel.
Day 14 – Limon, CO – As we leave Utah behind, enjoy views of rugged canyons, striking rock formations, distant mountain peaks, and the wide-open plains of Colorado before arriving in Limon for our overnight stay.
Day 15 – Junction City, KS – Today we continue east across the heart of the Great Plains toward Junction City. Relax and enjoy the changing scenery as we pass through rolling prairie, fertile farmland, and charming Midwestern communities before arriving for our overnight stay.
Day 16 – O’Fallon, IL – We continue east across the Midwest toward O’Fallon for our overnight stay.
Day 17 – Home – Our trip comes to an end today as we return home with memories of our adventures.
