Day 1 – Birmingham, Alabama – We begin our trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast by traveling through Tennessee to our first overnight in Birmingham.
Day 2 – Lambert’s Café – Beau Rivage Resort – Biloxi, Mississippi – After an included breakfast, we continue south. Lunch is included at Lambert’s Café, famous for their “throwed rolls.” Afterwards, we continue to Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi, where we overnight three nights. The remainder of the day will be free to enjoy the beach on the gulf as well as the resort’s amenities.
Day 3 – Biloxi City Tour – Shrimping Trip – Mary Mahoney’s Old French House – Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum – This morning, we meet our local step on guide for a city tour of Biloxi. We see such sights as the Biloxi Lighthouse and the Biloxi Visitors Center Museum. Next, we embark on a Biloxi Shrimping Trip. This unique and historical cruise will take you along the protected waters of the Gulf shoreline and show you all the creatures, including shrimp, which inhabit the coastal waters. Lunch is included at the legendary Mary Mahoney’s Old French House restaurant. Savor classic Southern cuisine while Bobby Mahoney entertains guests with stories from “the good old days” on the Gulf Coast (and a joke or two). Don’t forget to check out the Patriarch Oak Tree, believed to be over 2,000 years old. Afterwards, we visit the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum to discover the fascinating history of this region’s shrimping, oystering, and boatbuilding traditions. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Overnight same hotel.
Day 4 – Jefferson Davis Home & Library – After an included breakfast, we tour the Jefferson Davis Home & Library. The legacy of the Confederate president comes to life amid beautiful grounds and rich historical exhibits. After lunch on our own, we return to the hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure before we reconvene for an included dinner. Overnight same hotel.
Day 5 – Priester’s Pecans – Birmingham, AL – After an included breakfast, we board our motorcoach to start our journey home. We’ll stop en route at the beloved Priester’s Pecans near Montgomery, AL. This charming country store is filled with pecan treats, souvenirs, and homemade goodies. We overnight in Birmingham.
Day 6 – Home – After an included breakfast, we make our way back home filled with wonderful memories from our Mississippi Gulf Coast adventure.
