events within driving distance of Louisville from spectacular light displays to sporting events to
holiday shows and feasts – including our own Christmas Holiday Travel Show & Luncheon! Take
a peek at our list below to find the perfect event for a family outing, corporate day trip or
gathering with friends.

Get some Christmas culture
What better way to get in the spirit than a trip to the theater to see these classic holiday
performances. There are few things more magical than the Louisville Ballet’s rendition of The
Nutcracker. For musical fans, head across the river to Indiana’s Derby Dinner Playhouse for
dinner and a show.

Eat, drink and be merry
Tis’ the season for food, drink and good music! We’re about our annual Christmas Travel Show & Luncheon at Huber’s Plantation Hall featuring Bluegrass favorites Dozens of Dollars String Band. We’ll unveil our 2024 travel schedule, offer discounts and give away prizes…including a free trip to Mackinac Island. ‘Tis the season for sports
OK, so horseracing and the annual Kentucky-Louisville football game aren’t technically holiday events outside of the state…but they are certainly celebrated as such here in the Bluegrass! Churchill Downs is a great place to share Thanksgiving with friends and family. And if you need a ride to the Governor’s Cup, we’re happy to provide transportation – whether you bleed Red or Blue.

Lights, shopping…Santa!
The light display at Louisville’s underground Mega Cavern is a one-of-a-kind experience, and even more fun if you grab a big group and charter a school bus to drive you through it! You can head across the border to see French Lick all dressed for holidays, or head east to the Kentucky Castle in Versailles for a holiday market, brunch with Santa and more.
