Jefferson Tours and Charters Names New Operations Manager, Michael Cregan
Company promotes former Operations Manager, Steve Cisco, to Corporate Sales Manager
LOUISVILLE, KY – Jefferson Tours and Charters and its parent company, Taylor Motors, have announced the hiring of a new Operations Manager in Michael (Mike) Cregan. The company, which has been operating in Kentucky since 1957, and in Louisville since 2015, has also promoted former Operations Manager, Steve Cisco, to Corporate Sales Manager.
Cregan Joins the company after serving as Assistant General Manager of Parking Operations at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. Cregan moved to Louisville in 2015 to open Taxi 7 which filled a need for the community regarding taxi transportation by providing 100 brand new taxi cabs. He was the General Manager and helped Taxi 7 grow until it eventually merged with zTrip in 2019. Cregan stayed on and assisted with the merger of the companies. Prior to his time with Taxi 7 he was General Manager for Parking Operations at the Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport where he managed 16,000 parking spaces and collected revenues for the airport in excess of $40 million annually.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Jefferson team which is comprised of the area’s leading experts in transportation services,” said Cregan. “I look forward to bringing my experience to the company while also learning from and growing with the team as well.”
Cregan was recruited by Pro Player Stadium in 1997 to manage what was, at the time, the largest surface lot operation in the state of Florida with over 20,000 spaces. Cregan managed more than 100 major events a year which included 81 Florida Marlins games, 10 Miami Dolphin games, and several College Bowl games. Cregan also worked with Miami Dade police and NFL & MLB transportation officials to devise traffic and parking plans for two World Series, a Super Bowl, two National Championships, and many concerts.
Cregan got his start in the Transportation field working 11 years for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando Florida mostly in transportation and special events. He has managed thousands of cast members and vehicle fleets and ran the Parking Operation at the Magic Kingdom and was an integral part of the opening of the Walt Disney World Indy 200.
“We are thrilled to have Mike joining our team here in Louisville,” said Greg DeLancey, General Manager for Jefferson Tours and Charters. “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in both transportation and managing large organizations. He is going to be an incredible asset to the team.”
While Cregan will take over as Operations Manager, Steve Cisco, who was most recently serving in that role, has been promoted to Corporate Sales Manager. Since starting with the company more than 20 years ago, Cisco has become a transportation expert – leading operations, training drivers, and developing the company’s footprint as one of the most outstanding motorcoach companies in America. Cisco started at Taylor Motors as a school bus driver and was quickly promoted to Scheduler and Dispatcher at the Fort Knox Motor Pool. In 2004, Cisco became the Contract Manager for Taylor Motors School Bus Transportation at Fort Knox and then in 2014 he was promoted to Regional Director of Operations overseeing school bus contracts at military bases across the country. His duties led him to a top management position at Jefferson Tours and Charters in 2015, when the company added a school bus operation and later added motorcoach transportation after purchasing Shockey Tours.
“I am very excited with this new challenge. I feel so blessed to be working for such a great company and fantastic people. Truly, Taylor Motors and Jefferson Tours and Charters are industry leaders, and I am honored to play a role in that,” said Cisco.
Steve’s more recent accomplishments include coordinating transportation for over 100,000 attendees during the Kentucky Derby week of events at Churchill Downs.
“We know Steve will do an outstanding job and are excited to see him bring his unmatched expertise to this new role,” said Peggy Taylor, President of Taylor Motors. “We are also happy that Mr. Cregan has joined us to further develop the excellent foundation set over the years by Steve. The company’s growth in Jefferson County has been outstanding.”
While Cisco will maintain an office at Jefferson Tours and Charters in Louisville, he will take on the responsibility of developing bus transportation services for the company as a whole. Cregan will also work out of the company’s location in Louisville.
