Day 1 – Joplin, Missouri – Our journey to visit two of the most popular shopping destinations in the nation begins as we step aboard our deluxe motorcoach. Our first day’s journey takes us through the fertile farmlands of Indiana and Illinois to Joplin, Missouri, where we overnight.
Day 2 – Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve – Pioneer Woman Mercantile – After an included breakfast, we visit the Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve, known as the “Smithsonian of the West.” This working ranch is home to more than 30 species of wildlife including buffalo, elk, deer, longhorn cattle, and wild horses. The museum contains one of the world’s finest collections of Western art and artifacts. Next, we visit Pawhuska, Oklahoma, the home of Food Network TV star Ree Drummond, known to her fans as the Pioneer Woman. This afternoon will be free for lunch on our own and shopping at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. Ree Drummond and her family spent years renovating the historic Osage Mercantile Building into a destination bakery, deli, and general store welcoming visitors from near and far. Tonight, we have included dinner at the Mercantile, featuring the Pioneer Woman’s recipes. We overnight in the Tulsa area.
Day 3 – Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza – Southfork Ranch – After an included breakfast, we continue to south to Dallas, Texas. After lunch on our own, we visit the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. This permanent historical exhibit is located inside the former School Book Depository building from which Oswald shot Kennedy. This museum offers a compelling and dramatic look into the events of the JFK assassination and its aftermath. Tonight, we visit the world’s most famous ranch, Southfork Ranch, the setting of the popular “Dallas” TV show. We will enjoy an included dinner and a guided tour of the Ewing mansion. We see such memorabilia as the gun that shot J.R., Lucy’s wedding dress and the “Dallas” Family Tree. We overnight two nights in the Dallas, Texas area.
Day 4 – Fixer Upper Tour – Magnolia Market at the Silos – Waco, Texas – After an included breakfast, we travel to Waco, the hometown of HGTV “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines. We will take a “Fixer Upper” City Tour of Waco with a local step on guide. You will see many of the homes, shops (like Harp Design), and familiar spots seen on the “Fixer Upper” TV show, as well as make stops for photo opportunities along the way. After our tour, we visit Magnolia Market at the Silos for lunch on our own and shopping. This shopping center with its famous silos spans two city blocks in Waco and has a little something for everyone. Shop to your heart’s content at stores including the Magnolia Market Shop, Silos Bakery, Seed + Supply, and the Garden, then enjoy lunch on
your own at one of the numerous food trucks. Overnight same hotel.
Day 5 – Beale Street – Memphis, Tennessee – After an included breakfast, we depart for the Memphis, Tennessee area. Tonight, we visit Beale Street, where we will have time for shopping, exploring, and enjoying some of the blues music.
Day 6 – Graceland – Home – After an included breakfast, we tour Graceland, the beautiful mansion of Elvis Presley. Here, we will see his home, the Auto Museum featuring his motorcycles and legendary Pink Cadillac, his airplanes, and memorabilia spanning his entire career. We arrive home this evening, bringing with us all our gifts and packages from our great shopping experience at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile and Magnolia Market. Meals: 5B, 2D
